Following on from the One News story about the Government making it easier to hire overseas construction workers – we have a success story of our own.
Sam is a civil engineer with 0ver 6 years experience in massive roading projects in his homeland, Brazil. Initially finding employment in New Zealand was difficult, however we kept persevering and finally it paid off for Sam. Lucky Employer – lucky Sam!
Here’s his story:
“My experience has been fantastic Judith. My employer has invested in courses and more coaching from my boss. I am doing 4 specialized courses at related to Chip Seal and Bitumen. Incredible, isn’t it?
Now, we are beginning the preparation for the next season, I am going to Marlborough and Taranaki to do all the seal designs. I am also involved with contracts and bids. It’s great to know how our countries are similar in terms of contracts and tenders.”
