Our client is a leading construction company in the commercial, health and community sectors and are looking for experienced Quantity Surveyor(s) to join their expanding team. As Senior QS you will be responsible for projects up to $45m, and in a leadership role provide guidance to junior staff. You will be able to work autonomously reporting to the QS Manager and maintain excellent communications with clients.
The role:
Playing a key role managing construction projects, you will champion:
- Responsibility for all financial decisions, and ensure the company meets their Head Contract obligations.
- Set up and execute subcontractor contract documentation.
- Review project performance, update budgets/forecasting and prepare all budget cost reports.
- Manage progress claims and invoices, progress and final payments, site purchase orders etc.
- Manage concrete and carpentry labour.
- Actively participate in and promote the company’s exacting standards of Health and Safety.
About you:
To be successful your strong technical knowledge and track record will demonstrate consistent delivery of profitable projects.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and demonstrate sound leadership qualities.
- Relevant Quantity Surveyor qualification
- Full, clean NZ drivers licence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – the ability to consult, negotiate, influence and persuade.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Superior stakeholder management and decision making skills.
